In Phantasy Star Universe, Mirei is the Divine Maiden who can foresee the future. Karen Erra is her twin sister, but they were separated because their father wanted to sacrifice Karen to make Mirei's powers stronger. Mirei dies protecting Karen from him, and Karen impersonates as Mirei to hide her death from the public.
