miramikaru riran
An original character for the Touhou voice drama あやつり異変 (Ayatsuri Ihen) that was made with Flipnote Gallery: World and popularized by Inmu/Cookie☆ fans. The author Riina was in elementary school when she drew it and has since distanced herself from it. Today, Riran and her sister are mostly associated with Cookie☆.
A youkai kitsune with the ability to drive people mad. Some jokes about her animation include drawing her with a red rice bowl or a purple seat belt or rod. She has fox ears and a fox tail, red eyes, asymmetrical medium blonde hair and a sidelock on her left. She wears an open brown vest, a white collared shirt with short sleeves, a brown skirt, and a black necktie. Her signature spell card is called Dark Inferno.
Riran was first criticized for being an OC in a Touhou voice drama, but people began to draw her more as time went on. This was compounded by the release of Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom which had both a fox and a character that drives people mad. Another coincidence was Senko who happened to look similar. Since then, Riran has become the unofficial mascot of Cookie as an independent fandom outside of Touhou.
