minky momo

The main heroine of Mahou no Princess Minky Momo. She is divided between two different Momos; Sora Momo who was in the 1982 series, and Umi Momo who was in the 1991 series. They share the same appearance (although Sora Momo has a star hairclip, while Umi Momo has a heart hairclip), and they both uphold a duty of returning hope and dreams to people.

In Sora Momo, Minky Momo is a girl from Fenarinarsa, "the land of dreams in the sky", who was sent to Earth to restore humanity's dwindling hopes and dreams. She becomes the daughter of a childless couple and uses her magic to help others. Momo is killed in a car accident and reborn as the childless couple's daughter.

In Umi Momo, Minky Momo is from Marinasa, "the land of dreams in the bottom of the sea". She ascends to the ground to restore hopes and dreams, and is similarly adopted by a childless couple. Umi Momo meets Sora Momo, who encourages her to continue her duty even though her efforts are not working.
