The Mentholatum Company is an American non-prescription medical company founded in 1889. In the early 1920s they expanded into Japanese markets and were eventually bought out by the Japanese Rohto Pharmaceutical company in 1988. Their logo in some territories, such as China, remains a young girl in a early 20th century nurse's outfit (The "Little Nurse").
