The Marder III is the name for a type of World War II German self-propelled artillery used as tank destroyers and built on the chassis of a Panzer 38(t) tank.
The German word Marder means "marten" in English. They were in production from 1942 to 1944 and served with the Wehrmacht on all fronts until the end of the war.
