maikaze (kancolle)
Kantai Collection's personification of the Japanese destroyer Maikaze. Character design by Konishi, voiced by Bridcutt Sarah Emi.
She has short blonde hair with parted bangs, and blue eyes. Her outfit is the Konishi-designed Kagerou-class uniform: a black vest over a short-sleeved white dress shirt, white gloves, a black pleated skirt, black kneehighs and brown loafers. Each class member has a different color for their neckwear, hers is a red bowtie.
Her rigging consists of her real-life bridge and foremast to her back with 61 cm quad torpedo tubes and a 12.7 twin gun mount, a second 12.7 cm twin mount as a handgun, and 25 mm anti-aircraft guns on thigh straps.
Her name means "whirlwind", but when read literally it means "Dancing Wind", so as a joke and primary character trait, she's treated as a character who loves dancing. She is constantly excited and upbeat, often talks about wanting to dance with the Admiral, refers to combat as a 'dance' as well, and says she dislikes gloomy things.
