mad cat (battletech)

A fictional walker combat mecha.

The Mad Cat is a Clan OmniMech from the BattleTech game setting.

Properly known as a Timber Wolf, it was nicknamed Mad Cat in its initial fictional appearances because it was first seen within the story by Inner Sphere MechWarriors, who were unaware of the existence of the Clans or their advanced 'Mechs until that point and didn't know the enemy units' proper names.

Those who survived the initial encounters dubbed this model Mad Cat because it resembles an earlier Catapult BattleMech with the arms of a Marauder (manufacturer designation MAD-3R).
