The M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) is a light multiple rocket launcher developed for the U.S. Army and mounted upon a wheeled U.S. Army M1140 truck frame. It can carry a single ammunition pod consisting of either the 6-rocket Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) or the 1-missile Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS), and is interchangeable with the M270 MLRS which carries two ammunition pods. The GMLRS has a range up to 57.2 miles (92 km) while the ATACMS has a range up to 190 miles (300 km).
