light bulb above head

A trope in which a light bulb appears over a character's head, usually after an extended period of thinking. It is a cartoony way of showing an idea switching on.

The light bulb should appear above the characters head and not be a background detail. Do not confuse for spoken light bulbs or a light_bulb_hair_ornament.
