late for school

The all-too-cliché anime establishing scene that begins with a schoolgirl (usually; instances with boys seem to be a lot rarer) waking up to find herself late for class, maybe even on the first day of a new term. This inevitably sends her running out the door in a state of utter panic, with a piece of toast in her mouth and still trying to finish getting dressed as she runs, and sometimes she'll accidentally bump into other characters who turn out to be important later on in the story.
