kidou senkan nadesico
A 1996 science fiction series animated by XEBEC. The series heavily mixes comedic and dramatic elements, and parodies many of the tropes of real robot anime. Mecha designs were provided by Akitaka Mika and Gotou Keiji served as animation director. Original character designs were provided by Kikuchi Michitaka, who also penned the series' manga adaptation.
The series was followed up by a film, Kidou Senkan Nadesico - Prince of Darkness.
