A fictional character from the Gundam mechaverse.
Main protagonist of Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam and a supporting character in Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ. He is the dark blue haired pilot of the RX-178 Gundam Mk-II and designer and pilot of the MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam.
Kamille Bidan has a huge complex regarding his name, which is why he takes up Mobile Suit engineering and karate.
He gets into a fistfight with a Titans operative who makes a small jibe about his name, and things only go worse from there...
In 2005~2006 film Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam: A New Translation, his fate (and personality) was drastically changed. A latent but powerful Newtype, after witnessing (and suffering) the Titans' brutality firsthand Kamille becomes a mecha pilot and MS designer for the AEUG.
At the end of the original Zeta Gundam series he is left with severe mental disease and psychosis due to his duel with Titans officer and MS ace Paptimus Scirocco, who attacked Kamille with a powerful Newtype mental blast as he died, crushed by Kamille's Zeta Gundam MS during the final battle of The Gryps War. Fortunately Kamille's vegetative state is reverted and his mind is eventually healed (thanks to Fa Yuiry's constant care) at the end of Gundam ZZ. Years later he appears during the events of Moon Crisis, now as a medical doctor, having left the military for good and becoming a dedicated medicine student.
