John Moses Browning (January 23, 1855 – November 26, 1926) was a prolific American firearm designer. Some of his designs were the Colt-Browning M1895, Browning M1919, Browning M2, M1918 BAR machine guns, Browning Auto 5 shotgun, the M1911 and Browning Hi-Power handguns.
