Hypnosis Microphone, also known as a Hypnosis Mic (which the series is named after), is a series of devices, developed by Amayado Rei, using classified military technology. During World War III, the Party of Words established mass development of Hypnosis Mics.

Once activated, a Hypnosis Mic changes its form after shining bright purple, reflecting the style of its owner and creates speakers behind them. The lyrics channeled through the Mic affect people's sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, making it possible to attack a person's psyche and alter their state of mind.

Contrary to their name, they do not always come in the form of a typical microphone. For example, Kannonzaka Doppo's comes in the shape of a flip phone, Iruma Jyuto's comes in the shape of a police mic, and Amaguni Hitoya's comes in the form of a balance scale. Most of them simply resemble well-decorated microphones.
