howto:pixiv

Pixiv is a website where Japanese artists upload their artwork. It's one of the main sources of images on Danbooru.

Uploading

Paste the link to the Pixiv post on the upload page. Don't download the image to your computer then upload it. Pasting a link avoids uploading a Pixiv sample.

Artist tags

If the artist doesn't already have a tag, then you'll need to make one. To create a new artist tag, tag the post with artist:tag_name.

The tag name should normally be their Pixiv display name in romanized form. See howto:romanize or ask in Danbooru topic #8199 if you need help coming up with a tag name.

After you make a new artist tag, click the '?' next to the tag in the tag list to create a new artist entry. In the artist entry, add:

  • The artist's Pixiv URL (e.g. https://www.pixiv.net/users/1007080)
  • The artist's name (found under their profile picture).
  • Any other names or URLs listed in their profile.

See howto:artist for more information about making artist tags.

Searching

When searching by tag, Pixiv has a limit of 1000 pages for results. To bypass this limit, add ?ecd=YYYY-MM-DD to the end of the URL:
