houshou (kancolle)

Kantai Collection's personification of the Japanese light carrier Houshou. Character design by Shibafu, voiced by Suzaki Aya.

She is portrayed with long black hair tied to a ponytail, grey eyes, and small breasts.

Her default outfit consists of a pink kimono top, dark blue hakama skirt, a tasuki, white pantyhose, and rudder footwear patterned off her hull. Her rigging consists of a bow and carries a quiver on her back, plus her real-life flight deck is attached to her left arm.

The very first ship designed and built as an aircraft carrier to be completed, she has a personal tag named "Mother of all Aircraft Carriers" (全ての空母の母) with art depicting Houshou with various levels of maternal character. Also known as "O-kan" (お艦) for her maternal character, though this tag is also shared with other doting ships, Ikazuchi being one of them.

Sometimes seen as the proprietress of a bar or a restaurant, stemming from one of Chitose's hourly lines.
