Her biography:
She was rescued by Ragyou from a civil war that was raging in her home country somewhere in Africa. The civil war was fought using stolen life fiber equipment and quite possibly engineered by Ragyou to test the life fibers in real life combat. The name given to her by her parents is unknown, since the name "Rei Houomaru" was given to her by Ragyou.
