A spring festival known as the "Festival of Colors", originating as a Hindu religious festival in India and Nepal which has since become popular with people of other communities, especially overseas Hindus.

The epithet "Festival of Colors" comes from the dousing of colored water and powder normally associated with the Holi festivities.
