Touhou's third Child of Miare, a reincarnation of the writer Hieda no Are. Hieda no Akyuu is the ninth and current incarnation of the Hieda line, authors of the Kojiki and the Gensokyo Chronicle.

Currently, as there are no canonical depictions of Akyuu's past lives, any appearance given to Ami in fanworks is pure speculation, but she is generally given the same light purple hair as her current form.
