heartless (kingdom hearts)

Recurring antagonistic entities from the KINGDOM HEARTS JRPG series. They are divided into Purebloods (coalesced darkness) and Emblem Heartless (formed from hearts), with shared and unique visual traits between the two.

Shared Traits
  • dark exteriors/"skin"
  • simple, yellow eyes
  • jagged mouths
  • bent, spiral features
  • monstrous appearances
"Pureblood" Traits
  • mostly dark
  • may have a heart-shaped hole
  • either weak- or strong-looking
"Emblem" Traits

Ansem Seeker of Darkness is an Emblem Heartless that retained a human form and mind.

If a Heartless is created from a strong-willed person, the discarded body and mind becomes a Nobody.
