A large four-engined Japanese flying boat developed and manufactured by Kawanishi during World War II. It was used in maritime patrol and troop transport duties.
Its official name is 二式飛行艇 (Nishiki Hikoutei, lit. "Type 2 Flying Boat"). The common name is 二式大型飛行艇 (Nishiki Oogata Hikoutei, lit. "Type 2 Large-sized Flying Boat") but it is usually abbreviated as 二式大艇 (Nishiki Taitei or Nishiki-Daitei).
