A fire support mobile suit in the Mobile Suit Gundam universe first deployed in UC 0079. Main armament includes two 240mm shoulder cannons, two 60mm vulcan cannons mounted on the head, and a beam rifle as a sidearm.
Unit Designation: RX-77 Guncannon (the particular subtype that appeared in the show is RX-77-2)
Its shoulder cannons are sometimes parodied by other characters with similar equipment, such as Blastoise from Pokemon, Yasaka Kanako from Touhou, and Shigure from Kantai Collection.
It was designed by Yasuhiko Yoshikazu.
