Gorozaemon is a great boss of traditional youkai and ayakashi who has built up great influence and manages slain youkai spirits back in Wa no Kuni. Nowadays, that power and role has been handed off to someone else, and Gorozaemon says they are retired.
According to Gorozaemon themselves, they just appeared one day as an empty being because they were sought out as such, and they are neither man nor woman.
