gibson thunderbird

A bass guitar introduced by Gibson in 1963. Despite it's lower popularity due to Fender's dominance in the bass market, the Thunderbird gained a strong following due to it's subjectively more aggressive sound, making it a common sight among heavier genres.

It features a recognizably skewed design only shared by its guitar counterpart the Firebird, both designed by Chrysler's Raymond H. Dietrich along with two large pickups often nicknamed "soapbars".
