gacha (game mechanic)
A type of gameplay mechanic involving players using certain currencies (either free or paid) to obtain randomized items or characters from a "gacha banner", similar to the gashapon random toy vending machine.
Several games (particularly free-to-play mobile games) have implemented this model as a method of obtaining rare items and are thus called gacha games. Players often have a daily limit of free pulls they can make, with the ability to purchase more pulls with real world money.
Use this tag for images related to gacha-style mobile games. Only apply gashapon tag if the physical vending machines or their capsules are present.
