The Five Star Stories (ファイブスター物語, Faibu Sutā Monogatari?) is a space opera and mecha manga series created by Nagano Mamoru, building on his work on the anime series Juusenki L-Gaim.
The first volume of the manga was published in April 10, 1986 and is still ongoing.
The story is staged at an alien cluster of four major planetary systems. The God of Light, Amaterasu, the immortal emperor of the Grees Kingdom on the planet Delta Belune, is destined to rule the whole Joker System. He and Lachesis, his bride and fatima, are the main characters of this epic science fiction story.
An anime film adaptation of the first volume, directed by Yamazaki Kazuo, was released in 1989.
