droopy dog (cartoon)
This is a series of animated shorts from 1943 to 1958 featuring the titular Droopy character by cartoonist Tex Avery. The character would later appear in Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Tom and Jerry, and other shows. On Japanese TV, the Droopy shorts were aired sandwiched between Tom and Jerry shorts, so he's often imagined in association with them.
