A feeling of contempt or scorn.
The cat viewed the cheap supermarket catfood with disdain and stalked away.
One might get the sense that the character is looking down on another and casting harsh judgment due to that other's perceived inferiority. Similar to smugness, where a character feels perceived superiority instead of casting judgment on another.
