Dazzle camouflage, also known as razzle dazzle or dazzle painting, was a type of ship camouflage used extensively in World War I and to a lesser extent in World War II. It consists of a series of highly contrasting color bands or angular shapes, often black and white, set at irregular angles. The purpose of dazzle camouflage is not to conceal or obscure a target, but to confuse visual spotting and range-finding so it cannot be effectively attacked.

Classic dazzle camouflage notable appears on the turrets of Kantai Collection's Haruna Kai Ni. The camouflage used by Zuikaku, Zuihou, Chitose and Chiyoda is sometimes called dazzle camouflage, though it's function was different, in that it was intended to disrupt and disguise the ships' flight decks.
