A character from the 2001 A Space Odyssey Science fiction film and novel from the 60s.

Dr. David "Dave" Bowman is an astronaut aboard the Discovery One spacecraft on the first manned mission to Jupiter (Saturn in the novel).

In the film version he has a red spacesuit and was played by American actor Keir Dullea.
