curtiss r3c-0

A fictional seaplane in the Ghibli movie and manga Kurenai no Buta. It is a notional version of the Curtiss Aeroplane and Motor Company's R3C pontoon racer that won the Schneider Cup held in Baltimore in 1925.

Flown by Donald Curtis, the R3C-0 is a blue biplane with a yellow rudder and planing surfaces. A white wraparound band with an arrow-through-heart symbol decorates the fuselage, with a stylized rattlesnake at the base of the rudder. It was armed with two .30-caliber machine guns.
