A .44 caliber cap and ball revolver designed by Samuel Colt in the 1850s, and the most common pistol used in the American Civil War. It uses the same frame as the Colt 1851 Navy, but is visually distinguished by its larger size, and circular barrel as opposed to the 1851's hexagonal barrel.
