bing chilling (meme)

冰淇淋

A meme originating from a video of John Cena sitting in a car, talking in Chinese about having an ice cream cone and promoting his film Fast & Furious 9. Parodies with fake subtitles soon emerged, sometimes coupled with other videos about him praising Lao Gan Ma chili or the apology video after he "accidentally" referred to Taiwan as a country.

The name of the meme comes from his weird pronunciation of ice cream (冰淇淋/bing qi lin), which he repeats multiple times through the video.

Along with Chinese eggman, Chinese Tom, and social credits, these memes were a part of the "Chinese meme" that became prevalent in 2021, typically in a derisive context towards the Chinese Communist government.
