A superhero from DC Comics and the titular main hero of the Batman franchise.
His real name is Bruce Wayne, a wealthy man who witnessed his parents' murders and vowed to fight crime in Gotham City. He dons a black superhero costume and bat-themed mask, and utilizes gadgets and martial arts rather than superpowers like traditional superheroes. Also known as the Dark Knight.
In many crossover media, Batman is frequently depicted as a rival of Superman, primarily due to their contrasting qualities. Such as Superman's usage of superhuman power compared to Batman's usage of gadgets, and their clashing philosophies regarding how to handle a villain.
He was created by the late Bob Kane and the late Bill Finger and debuted in Detective Comics #27 (1939).
