A natural atmospheric phenomenon that causes a pattern of colorful lights to appear in the night sky.
Predominantly seen in high-latitude regions around the Arctic and Antarctic. Also known as the northern lights or aurora borealis in the Northern hemisphere and as the southern lights or aurora australis in the Southern hemisphere.
