asuna elmarit

The main protagonist of the spinoff Zeta Gundam manga Ecole du Ciel from 2001. She is also one of the franchise's few female protagonists.

Asuna Elmarit is a student from École du Ciel, an Earth Federation military school for training future mobile suit pilots in Montréal, Canada. Unexpected events occur, exposing Asuna and her classmates to the reality that is war.

She pilots several types of mobile suits, including the Le Cygne, a Gundam which became her signature mobile suit. As time passes Asuna gets involved first with a Zeon remnant pirate group and later in The Gryps War against the oppresive Earth Federation Titans, becoming finally a member of the AEUG.

Her character design resembles that of Takaya Noriko from Top wo Nerae!, which also had Mikimoto Haruhiko as character designer.
