armored core vi: fires of rubicon

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, is a mecha combat videogame by From Software and published by Bandai Namco. The sixth game of the Armored Core series and latest since 2013's Armored Core: Verdict Day, the game was released on 25 August 2023 on for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Set in the far future on the planet Rubicon 3, the planet was once rich with a substance called Coral that could be use as an energy source and data conduit. However, the Coral caused a cataclysmic event known as the Fires of Ibis, which engulfed the planet and the surrounding star system in flames. Fifty years later, Coral was once again discovered on Rubicon 3, leading to a war between the Corporations who want to mine Coral and the local government and people trying to stop them.

The player takes the role of 621, an augmented Armored Core pilot sent to Rubicon 3 by their boss, Handler Walter, to work as a mercenary for the various factions in order to earn a new life for themselves.
