Aleksandra I. Pokryshkin (Александра И.[Ивановна] Покрышкин) is a Strike Witches character, an Orussian witch of the 502nd Joint Fighter Wing, captain from the Orussian Army's 216th Fighter Aviation Regiment, and Orussia's top flying ace. Her familiar is a polar bear.
Aleksandra is structured and sometimes perfectionistic, often acting as foil to the hijinks of Krupinski and the carelessness of Katajainen. With Nikka, Aleksandra is portrayed as especially close; despite the constant headache of having to repair Nikka's broken units, it has brought them together in a certain "care-taker" sort of way.
This character was inspired by Russian ace Alexander Ivanovich Pokryshkin, who was nicknamed "Engineer" when he was a teenager, to which Aleksandra's mechanical inclinations are a reference.
Aleksandra's family name seems to break the rules of real-world Russian, where this type of last name should absolutely have a feminine suffix ("Pokryshkina").
