acura (brand)
The luxury branch of Honda, created in 1986 to sell their luxury and performance lineup overseas, most notably the iconic NSX. Honda intended to bring the brand to the Japanese domestic market for the 2008 model year, but the plans were canceled due to the financial crisis. Has been limited to the North American market (US and Canada) for most of its existence.
As most of the cars are identical to their Honda counterparts in name and design aside from the branding, this tag should be used alongside the existing Honda vehicle tag when it has an Acura badge instead. Despite not having an international presence, the Acura brand has a strong motorsports history in the IMSA Sportscar Championship, developing original prototype-class cars for the purpose of competing in the championship's top class.
