The most recent entry in Bandai Namco's Ace Combat series, released on PlayStation 4 with VR component, Xbox One, and PC in 2019. The game takes place nine years after the events of Ace Combat 5, and is a tie in to both it and Ace Combat 04. The game focuses on the story of "Trigger", a pilot for the Osean Air Defence Force as his country finds itself in a war against Erusea and its masses of drone fighters for control over a space elevator. The story also follows a squad of convicts, an ace pilot who is involved in Erusea's drone program, and the Princess of Erusea as they all deal with the effects of the war.
