Tsunemori Akane (常守 朱) is the main female character of Psycho-Pass. A young and idealist girl and a brilliant student, Tsunemori opted to join the Public Safety Bureau because she believed that she could make a difference. While very inexperienced and not used to the criminal world, she is shown to have a very strong mind, being able to shrug off the trauma of terrible events relatively easily. She has a strong sense of justice which sometimes doesn't agree with Sybil's decisions, and is generally very courageous. She is also very polite and is easily embarrassed. After the events of the first episode she and Kougami form a bond and she deeply cares for him. Tsunemori is also a pacifist, and has not fired a lethal shot at anyone. In episode 11 Makishima killed her friend Yuki, after which she became determined to catch him. In episode 16 she saves Kougami from being killed by Makishima and narrowly stops herself from killing him in revenge for Yuki.
