Lasagne (UK) or lasagna (US) is a dish made of very wide, flat sheets of pasta with multiple layers of meat, sauce, and cheese stacked on top of one another.

In Italian, "lasagna" refers to one flat sheet of pasta and its plural form, "lasagne", refers to the dish. This distinction is also observed in English, but only rarely in American English. (Wiktionary)
